I want you to produce a fun, stimulating product that encourages young children to EAT HEALTHILY.

You can, if you wish make a paper-based document or slideshow – but I would really like to see you using this time to make something more inventive like a short animation, web page etc.

You can use any of the software you have used over the past 2 years.

You must make a brief plan and include a justification for your choice of software.

This is essentially an individual project that will be used to obtain marks for your form for the sports day.

The deadline for the finished project is 4pm on Friday 29th June.

You will be marked on the following criteria:

Use of appropriate software
Planning
Justification of software choice
Meeting deadline
Accuracy
Suitability for audience
Variety of content
Creativity

You will also be marked by your peers.

I want you to produce – in the next 3 double lessons - a fun stimulating product that encourages parents to encourage their children to EAT HEALTHILY.

You can, if you wish make a paper-based document or slideshow – but I would really like to see you using this time to make something more inventive like a short animation, web page or radio broadcast/podcast.

To do start this activity I would like you to use the time for planning (on the paper provided) and if you are doing a radio broadcast then you need to plan and write your script – you may like to go to a website like www.freeplaymusic.com to sample the sort of copyright-free music you might use to make your podcast more interesting. You must write your plan up in your blog by the end of the first double lesson, including a justification for your choice of software.

If you are doing a podcast you can also involve other members of the class, but this is essentially an individual project that will be used to obtain marks for your form for the sports day.

The deadline for the finished project is 4pm on Friday 22nd June.

You will be marked by Mr Buddie on:

Use of appropriate software
Use of Blog/planning
Justification of software choice
Meeting deadline
Accuracy
Suitability for audience
Variety of content
Creativity

You will also be marked by your peers.

The Olympics come to Rickmansworth

The url for this specific activity is:

http://tinyurl.com/26yxpg

The 2012 Olympics are coming to London. Each country has to find somewhere to be based - see this story about Chippenham possibly being host to North Korea.

Rickmansworth wants part of this 'action' and you have been asked to put together an advertising campaign to show all participating countries that Rickmansworth is a great place to be based for the competition.

Using the slogan "Rickmansworth is Right for YOU" (which needs to be written EXACTLY as shown, but in font Ariel, size 16) you need to produce an advert/brochure to promote Rickmansworth as a location for the teams to be based.

In order to do this you must follow these rules (as well as any stated above):

a) You must include the controversial new 2012 logo - to be no larger than 3cm square and which must be placed ONCE in the TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER of EACH PAGE your document.

b) You must include at least one image of Rickmansworth.

c) You must suggest accomodation possibilities for the visitors (think of the local hotel that is near Rickmansworth Tube Station).

d) You must include AT LEAST THREE correct facts about Rickmansworth.

e) Remembering that you are writing to countries who may speak little English, your work must include NO SPELLING mistakes and should contain no more than 100 words.

f) You must describe the closeness of transport links - stating what they are.

g) You must include a map to suggest the location of one sporting venue within Rickmansworth where the team can train with a short description of the venue.

h) The border of your document should contain an image of at least 5 flags, one from each of the five main continents: Africa, Europe, Asia, North America, South America.

i) The item, should fit on a SHEET OF A4 (ie. one or two sides).

You work will be checked for:

1. How well you stick to the rules stated above

2. Accuracy of content

3. Use of appropriate software

4. Suitability for audience

5. Completeness of finished document

6. Originality

Due Date: 4pm Friday 29th June.

Good luck!
